EMPLOYEES of Jerudong Park Medical Centre (JPMC) brought more than just their work bags yesterday; they also took with them used paper materials to be recycled as part of the hospital's project in going green.
The recycling drive took place at the premises of the private hospital. More than 580kg of paper materials — in the form of old newspapers, cardboard boxes and magazines — were collected by local recycling company Daikyo Environmental Recycling Sdn Bhd at the end of the day.
The collection was also a 326.47 per cent increase from last year's 136kg.
"JPMC is strongly committed towards its environmental conservation project, which is part of the corporate social responsibility. Every year, the employees of JPMC play their part to help recycle all their used items for other eco-friendly purposes," said Marketing Officer Ak Danny Pg Tajuddin.
He also believed that through the drive, it will help inspire the society to practise good recycling habits and help preserve the nature.
JPMC has a strong focus on sustainability towards health, environment and corporate social responsibilities.
It has been featured in countless community-driven activities and programmes from cleaning campaigns to recycling projects, and is constantly looking forward towards 'what's next'.
