With the intention of early diagnosis and treatment of any signs of prostate cancer, The Jerudong Park Medical Centre (JPMC) is offering Prostate Screening suitable for men 40 years and above. The promotion will be available from 30 October to 30 November 2017 and redeemable until 8 December 2017.
The promotion commemorates with the International Prostate Cancer Awareness Month. The goal of this screening is to detect if there are any signs of prostate cancer at an early stage as most men may not experience any symptoms. Prostate cancer is 100% treatable if detected early and has one of the highest survival rates of any cancer.
“With prostate cancer, it is common not to experience any early warning signs. Prostate cancer is a silent disease where tumour grows and does not push against anything to cause pain. That’s why screening for prostate cancer is such an important topic.” said Dr Chua Hock Beng, Consultant Surgeon / Urologist, Visiting Consultant of JPMC.
The Prostate Screening Packages consist of two Specialist consultations, clinical, laboratory and radiology examinations priced at BND438.
An appointment is required and mandatory to fast at least 12 hours prior to screening, and there is a one-time registration fee of BND10 for any new patients to JPMC. Medical advice and recommendations will be based on case findings, clinical investigations, medical history and personal profile.
The Outpatient Clinic is open for consultations from Monday to Friday from 8am to 12 noon, and from 1pm to 5 pm. On Saturdays, the clinic is open from 8am to 12 noon only.
