In conjunction with the World AIDS Day this year, the Jerudong Park Medical Centre (JPMC) held a prize presentation ceremony yesterday for the recent World AIDS Day Quiz in partnership with Brunei Press Sdn Bhd.
The prize presentation ceremony was held in the CME Room, Level 1 of JPMC yesterday afternoon. Present at the prize presentation ceremony was Reggie See, General Manager of Brunei Press, who also presented the prizes to the 10 lucky winners.
Witnessing the event were Hazizah Osman, the Deputy General Manager of Brunei Press; Ak Danny Pg Tajuddin, the Marketing Officer of JPMC; and the senior management of the Jerudong Park Medical Centre.
Before the prize presentation ceremony, Ak Danny Pg Tajuddin gave a welcoming remark and expressed his thanks to all the participants for joining the quiz.
In his remarks, he said that in 2001, only one person was affected by HIV AIDS and up to 2011, 11 people were affected by HIV AIDS. He hopes that the statistics will create awareness that even though the numbers are not alarmingly high, Brunei is not an exception as there is no cure for HIV AIDS.
The quiz winners won themselves goodie bags worth BND150 which includes one month free membership at JPMC's Fitness Centre, One voucher of 20 per cent discount on selected treatments or services available in JPMC and one voucher of 10 per cent discount on any purchase at JPMC Pharmacy sponsored by Jerudong Park Medical Centre (JPMC) and JPMC Fitness Centre.
The quiz winners were Hj Roslan bin Hj Abd Rahman; Melanie Morales' Nur Izza Putri binti Jailani; Simon Shim; Tan Yah Tak; Wee Chiew Hsia; Liew Choon Kiaw; Priscilla Verdad; Safiahwati binti Hj Ismail and Norhayati binti Kassim.
Later on, a cheque presentation worth BND1,158 was presented to Iswandy Ahmad, the President of Brunei Darussalam AIDS Council (BDAC). On hand to present the cheque was Ak Danny Pg Tajuddin, representing on behalf of Jerudong Park Medical Centre. The amount of money was raised from the red ribbon sale and also donations towards this fund.

Also, I would like to thank Brunei Press for their endless support for the partnership for the World AIDS Day Awareness Campaign. As part of our Corporate Social Responsibility programme to give back to the community, we hope to organise similar health awareness event in the future," said Ak Danny Pg Tajuddin, Marketing Officer of JPMC.
