Job Summary

  • Perform administrative duties in the department which include task such as plan, coordinate and manage daily operations under the guidance and supervision of the Head of Department to improve efficiency and quality of the services.
  • Liaise with relevant stakeholders including multidisciplinary team in the Jerudong Park Medical Centre (JPMC), government agencies and local Non-Profit Organisations (NGOs) in the provision of Medical Social Work services in extending optimum level of service to patient and their families and to achieve the overall objective of the Department.

Educational & Professional Requirements

  • A minimum of 2 to 3 years of working experience in a hospital/clinical setting is highly recommended.
  • A minimum of Higher National Diploma (HND) in Business Administration, Communications, or Social Sciences field.
  • An undergraduate degree in Business Administration, Business Management, Social Work, Social Science or any relevant field.

Principles Duties and Responsibilities

1. Administration of Medical Social Work (MSW) Services

  • Prepare and draft official correspondence, documents, reports, presentations, etc. as required by the Chief Medical Officer for Board Meeting, other commitments relevant to Medical Social Worker Department and General Medical Services Department.
  • Prepare, compile and maintain periodic and accurate reports as required by the General Medical Services Department in relation to the services provided by the Medical Social Worker Department.
  • Maintain and coordinate patients' database, ensure up-to-date details are available as necessitate by the Medical Social Worker Department.
  • Monitors and communicates departmental progress to minimize risk and other forms of setbacks.
  • Assist the Medical Social Worker Department in service development in line with the departmental strategy and business plan including preparing staffing plans, estimates and annual budget requirements.

2. Quality Assurance

  • Engage in the creation and completion of data collection, departmental database, SOPs and Policies to ensure organizational maintenance. Identify gaps within the department for overall improvement.
  • Involved in the proposal/development and implementation of departmental policies to deliver high quality standards to patients.
