Job Summary
The main roles and responsibilities of Clinical Nurse Specialist (Education) are designing education programs, mentoring staff, and supporting clinical excellence at both the bedside and in the hospital. It has a key role in promoting evidence-based practice, patient safety, and continuous improvement for nursing care. At the same time, working closely with the Nursing education team specifically the Senior Staff Nurse (Education), in training, mentoring, and competency assessment of staff under Nursing Services.
Professional Requirements
- Minimum 3–5 years clinical experience in hospital setting (hospital of no less than 100 beds).
- A minimum of 3-5 years of education or training experience in a hospital is preferred.
- Experience in education, training, or preceptorship.
- Posess a valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certificate.
Educational Requirements
- Graduated from an accredited college or university.
- A Degree/master’s in nursing from an institute recognized by the Nursing Board of Brunei is required (master’s in
nursing education/clinical Specialty preferred).
Principles Duties and Responsibilities
- Plan, deliver, and evaluate nursing education and training programs.
- Lead orientation and onboarding for new nursing staff.
- Support competency assessments and ongoing professional development.
- Provide bedside coaching, mentorship, and clinical guidance.
- Promote evidence-based practice and safe patient care.
- Collaborate with hospital teams on audits, incident reviews, and improvements.
- Support accreditation readiness and compliance with accreditation standards.
