20th March 2025 – Jerudong Park Medical Centre (JPMC) reaffirmed its commitment to environmental sustainability by hosting a successful recycling campaign in conjunction with Global Recycling Day. This recycling drive was conducted in partnership with Daikyo
Environmental Recycling Sdn Bhd, a leading environmental recycling company.
The drive, held at the JPMC loading bay, was organized by the General Administration Department. Yang Mulia Miss Bun Pei Ling, Acting Chief Operating Officer of JPMC, joined
the initiative alongside members of the senior management team and other JPMC staff, emphasizing the importance of collective action in driving sustainability efforts.
The campaign aimed to promote recycling efforts and raise awareness about the importance of sustainability. With a key focus on paper recycling, the initiative highlighted how reducing paper waste can help curb deforestation, conserve energy, and minimize landfill waste. JPMC staff enthusiastically contributed by bringing papers from their offices, warehouses, and homes for recycling. Items collected included cardboards, magazines, books, newspapers, and other paper products.
The campaign achieved a remarkable milestone, collecting a total of 1,024 kg (over 1 ton) of paper waste. This achievement underscores JPMC’s dedication to supporting Brunei Darussalam’s sustainability goals, in line with the nation’s ‘Whole-of-Nation’ approach to environmental responsibility. JPMC remains steadfast in its mission to integrate sustainable practices into its operations and inspire positive change within the community. The medical centre encourages everyone to join the movement towards environmental stewardship and make recycling a part of their daily lives.
