Dr. Mazrul Adimin Haji Awang Besar is a highly accomplished Consultant Surgeon and Director of the Maxillofacial, Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Centre (MFPRSC) in Brunei Darussalam. He holds dual qualifications in Dentistry and Medicine, having obtained his Bachelor of Dental Surgery from King’s College London and his Bachelor of Medicine, Surgery and Obstetrics (MBBChBAO) from Queen’s University Belfast. Dr. Mazrul is German Board Certified as a Specialist in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and Facial Plastic Surgery, with extensive training and experience at Klinikum Nürnberg, Germany. Over the years, he has served in key leadership roles, including Executive Director of both The Brunei Cancer Centre (TBCC) and Pantai Jerudong Specialist Centre (PJSC). Actively engaged in advancing surgical practices, he has participated in international courses, congresses, and leadership programmes, ensuring the highest standards of patient care and clinical excellence. Fluent in English, Malay, and German, Dr. Mazrul is also an avid sports enthusiast, embodying discipline and teamwork both inside and outside the clinical setting.

• 1997 – 2002: Dental School, Guys and St. Thomas’s Hospital of King’s College London Bachelor of Dental Surgeon (BDS)
• 2003 – 2008: Medical School, Queen’s University of Belfast, Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery, Bachelor of Obstetrics (MBBChBAO)
• 2010-2016: Specialist Training, Mund-, Kiefer- und Plastische Gesichtschirurgie, Klinikum Nuernberg, Germany , German Board Certified in Specialist in Maxillofacial and Facial Plastic Surgery.
