“At the heart of our hospitals’ success, lies the admirable commitment and unyielding dedication of our employees. Each day, our employees give their level best to provide quality work and compassionate care, support and hope to those who have readily entrusted them in their service. Just as they have prioritized those in their care, so must we put to the forefront, our employees’ wellbeing and health”, said Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Dr Haji Mohd Isham bin Haji Jaafar, Minister of Health in his capacity as the Chairman of Jerudong Park Medical Centre and Pantai Jerudong Specialist Centre during his welcoming address at the launch of the Employee Wellbeing Week.
The event began with a recital of Doa by Ustaz Ishkandar Bin Haji Buntar, Religious Officer which was later officiated by the Guest of Honour, Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Dr Haji Mohd Isham bin Haji Jaafar. Vendors had the chance to speak with Yang Berhormat Dato on the knowledge and experiences they can provide to promote healthy lifestyles through better food choices and promotion of mental health during the booth tour. During Employee Wellbeing Week, employees had the opportunity to join activities, reward challenges and attend talks that aimed to nurture four key elements of their wellbeing: their mental health, sense of fulfillment and purpose, physical fitness and not forgetting their financial stability.
“Employee Wellbeing Week is a testament to both JPMC and PJSC’s commitment in pioneering and leading a corporate culture that aims to put their people first. In creating a supportive work environment that values the wellbeing of the staff, it is in the hope to empower our people to provide exceptional care to patients and the community”, emphasized Ms Genevieve Yee, Human Resource Manager of JPMC and PJSC.
In addition, Yang Berhormat Dato also announced the implementation of a new Mental Health Day Leave policy, reaffirming the company’s commitment to the wellbeing and mental health of its employees. This progressive initiative aims to provide support and flexibility for employees who require time off to attend to their mental health needs. The event took place from 10th to 14th July 2023, aimed to foster a positive work environment and to show their appreciation and support for the employee’s tireless efforts.
