Dr Nur’ashikin is a Senior Consultant Neurologist and Director of the Brunei Neuroscience Stroke and Rehabilitation Centre. Besides Neurology Specialist qualification from the United Kingdom, she holds a research Doctorate in Clinical Neurology from the University of Nottingham and has a longstanding commitment to advancing neurological care, medical education, and service development. Her clinical interests include stroke, neurodegenerative diseases, motor neurone disease, migraine, neuroimmunology, and neurological complications of enteric disease. She has led the development of numerous multidisciplinary initiatives such as the Dementia Support Group and Migraine Self-Management Workshops.

She supervises research projects across disciplines, including junior doctors, medical students, nurses, and allied health professionals. Her publications span topics such as gluten-related neurological illness, neuroimmunology, and medical training, with contributions to international journals, book chapters, and national guidelines.

Dr Nur’ashikin plays a key role in national health policy and postgraduate medical education. She is deeply committed to medical education and training and has led the development of multiple postgraduate and foundation training programmes in Brunei. She has held leadership positions within the Ministry of Health as well as currently in JPMC. She is a Visiting Lecturer at Universiti Brunei Darussalam and a member of the editorial board of the Brunei International Medical Journal. Her dedication to academic medicine is reflected in her numerous oral and poster presentations at regional and international conferences.
