Dr. Omair Sajjad Syed is a Nuclear Medicine specialist with over eight years of clinical and academic experience in advanced diagnostic and therapeutic nuclear medicine. He is currently serving as an Associate Specialist in Nuclear Medicine at Jerudong Park Medical Centre (JPMC), Brunei.

He is proficient in general nuclear medicine, nuclear cardiology, PET/CT imaging (FDG, Ga-68 DOTATATE, Ga-68 PSMA), and theranostic applications (I-131). His postgraduate research focused on evaluating cardiac perfusion defects in breast cancer patients post-radiotherapy using Tc-99m MIBI gated SPECT myocardial imaging, which received international recognition.

Dr. Omair presented his work at multiple national conferences, earning the Best Scientific Paper Presentation (2017, JPMC Annual Medical Symposium) along with other distinctions. He has participated in several IAEA regional training courses and workshops on hybrid imaging and theranostic.

At JPMC Brunei, he independently performs and reports a wide range of diagnostic procedures, including PET/CT, SPECT, general nuclear medicine scans, and nuclear cardiology, as well as administering therapeutic nuclear medicine for thyroid cancer, and hyperthyroid conditions.

In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Omair is actively engaged in training fellows, conducting CME sessions, and participating in international hybrid imaging conferences, thereby contributing to the advancement of nuclear medicine globally.
