JERUDONG PARK MEDICAL CENTRE (JPMC) INKS MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING (MOU) WITH NATIONAL UNIVERSITY HOSPITAL (SINGAPORE)

21st July 2023 – The Jerudong Park Medical Centre (JPMC) and the National University Hospital of Singapore (NUH) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on 21st July 2023 to foster a deeper mission between the two hospitals in the area of technical know-how transfer in medical, academic, research & operational skill set.

The MoU represents a significant milestone bringing together the strengths of JPMC and NUH to foster innovation, improve patient outcomes, and expand the frontiers of medical knowledge. The partnership will pave the way for new avenues of collaboration in various key areas, which can help us navigate the challenges of today.

NUH is Singapore’s leading university hospital, which serves more than one million patients a year with over 50 medical, surgical and dental specialties.

The signing ceremony held at JPMC CME Room was witnessed by the Guest of Honour, Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Dr. Hj Md Isham bin Hj Jaafar, the Minister of Health and in his capacity as Chairman of JPMC. Signing the MoU were Dr. Muhd Hiza Wardy Bin Hj Abdul Halim, Deputy Medical Director of JPMC, Ms. Bun Pei Ling, Acting Chief Operating Officer of JPMC, and Professor Quek Swee Chye in his capacity as Chairman of the Medical Board of National University Hospital (Singapore). The Memorandum of Understanding ceremony began with the opening remarks by Dr Muhd Hiza Wardy Bin Hj Abdul Halim, Deputy Medical Director of JPMC and Professor Quek Swee Chye, Chairman, Medical Board from the National University Hospital (Singapore) welcoming the invited guests to witness the promising event.

The leadership teams of both institutions expressed their enthusiasm for this strategic collaboration. They believe that by pooling their expertise, they can create a transformative medical impact on Brunei’s healthcare as well as to the advancement of healthcare in the region.

The signing ceremony continued with the exchange of tokens of appreciation between the two hospitals and a tour.
