Bandar Seri Begawan, 21 August 2025 – Healthcare professionals from across Brunei gathered yesterday for a comprehensive training programme comprising a hands-on workshop titled “Practical Approaches in Respiratory and Allergy Diagnostics” and an evening Continuing Medical Education (CME) lecture on “Allergy & Asthma Evaluation and Management: Journey to Remission.” The sessions were conducted in collaboration with BNHHospital, Thailand, and led by internationally acclaimed expert Professor Dr. Orapan Poachanukoon, MD, PhD.
The workshop provided practical skills in the use of modern diagnostic tools such as aerosol therapy, targeted allergy testing, FeNO, and spirometry, equipping equipment with improved techniques to enhance accuracy in respiratory and allergy diagnosis and treatment. The programme forms part of a broader Train-the-Trainer initiative aimed at empowering physicians, nurses, and allied health professionals to disseminate this knowledge in their respective institutions and strengthen healthcare facilities.
“This is an excellent opportunity for Brunei’s healthcare professionals to collaborate with BNH Hospital, exchange best practices, and explore future research partnerships,” said Dr Meera Sahib Kabeer, Chief Medical Officer of JPMC. “This will help create sustainable improvements in respiratory and allergy care.”

In the evening, the CME lecture shifted the focus to long-term disease control and remission.
