JPMC and Gleneagles JPMC Celebrate Ramadhan withKhatam Al-Quran and Orphan Donation Ceremony

11 March 2026 – Jerudong Park Medical Centre (JPMC), through its Ibadah Friendly Hospital (IFH) Committee in collaboration with Gleneagles JPMC, and JPMC Public Relations Unit, hosted a Majlis Khatam Al-Quran and Penyampaian Derma Anak Yatim in conjunction with the holy month of Ramadhan 1447H/2026M. The event was held at Masjid Al-Ameerah Al[1]Hajjah Maryam in Jerudong.

Present as the Guest of Honour was Yang Mulia Dr Hj Muhd Syafiq Bin Abdullah, Chief Medical Officer of JPMC. Also in attendance were members of the Board of Directors, senior management of JPMC and Gleneagles JPMC, staff members, invited guests, representatives from the Kampung Jerudong community as well as student volunteers from JPMC College of Health Sciences (JCHS).

The ceremony commenced with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah, led by the Guest of Honour, followed by a mass recitation of Surah Lazim, Takhtim, Tahlil and Doa. The Khatam concluded with Zikir Marhaban and Doa Peliharakan Sultan dan Negara Brunei Darussalam.

A total of 338 participants completed the Khatam Al-Quran as part of the programme, marking the completion of the recitation of the Holy Quran and embodying the spirit of unity, faith, and reflection that defines the blessed month of Ramadhan. Organised as part of JPMC’s IFH initiative, the event also served to strengthen the connection between staff, community members, and the teachings of the Holy Quran.

In conjunction with the ceremony, donations were presented to 31 orphans by the Guest of Honour, Dr Hj Muhd Syafiq Bin Abdullah, together with Chief Operating Officer of Gleneagles JPMC, ‘Izzul Hamzi Bin Hj Jomari. The contributions aimed to provide support and bring joy to the children and their families as they prepared for the upcoming Hari Raya Aidilfitri.

Through initiatives such as this, JPMC and Gleneagles JPMC continue to uphold their commitment to community engagement and charitable outreach, reflecting the values of compassion, generosity, and social responsibility during the holy month of Ramadhan. The event was supported by volunteers from students of JPMC College of Health Sciences (JCHS).

The ceremony concluded with a communal sungkai and Maghrib prayer, offering a moment of unity and reflection for all attendees while further strengthening the bonds between JPMC, its staff and the wider community.
