General Information
He is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon, with special interest Hip and Knee Surgery, Sports injury as well as Children’s Orthopaedic Surgery. He offers both non-surgical and surgical management options for these conditions. Surgical techniques encompass knee joint preservation and replacement surgery, including meniscus repair, ACL reconstruction, Cartilage regeneration, Knee Osteotomy, patella realignment surgery as well as Total Knee and Total Hip Replacement. He also operates on Trauma cases mainly all kinds of fracture fixation as well as management of complications from Diabetic Foot.
He also manages early arthritis in young patients and offer knee and Hip injections including Viscosupplementation injections in addition to key-hole surgery (arthroscopy). Other Non-surgical techniques include tailoring a programme of physiotherapy and strength and conditioning for each individual patient with Sports Injury, Neck and Lower back pain.
He graduated from St.George’s Hospital Medical School, London in 2002 and undertook Basic Surgical Training in South West London. Upon returning to Brunei he underwent Basic Orthopaedic Training under Mr Hj Abdul Rashid (2010 – 2015) before further completing his Higher Surgical Training in Trauma & Orthopaedic Surgery in Liverpool Merseyside Rotation (2015-2020). He exited his training after gaining FRCS from the Royal College of Surgeons Edinburgh to return back to Brunei to resume his service.
He also has a keen interest in research and completed an additional Research Degree programme (MPhil) with the University of Liverpool under the supervision of Professor Simon Frostick, to further his interest in Outcomes of Hip and Knee Replacement Surgery.
