3 November 2025 – Jerudong Park Medical Centre (JPMC) and Gleneagles JPMC (GJPMC) are honored to receive His Excellency Lawrence Wong, Prime Minister and Minister for Finance of the Republic of Singapore, for a courtesy visit to Jerudong Park Medical Centre (JPMC) and Gleneagles JPMC (GJPMC).
Upon arrival, His Excellency Lawrence Wong was greeted by Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Lailaraja Mejar Jeneral (Bersara) Dato Paduka Seri Awang Haji Halbi bin Haji Mohd Yussof, Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Minister of Defence II, Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Dr. Haji Mohd Isham bin Haji Jaafar, Minister of Health, Ministry of Health of Brunei Darussalam, Chairman and Executive Director of Jerudong Park Medical Centre (JPMC) and Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Dr Awang Haji Mohd Amin Liew bin Abdullah, Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Minister of Finance and Economy II, Chairman of Gleneagles JPMC.

The delegation from the Republic of Singapore accompanying His Excellency Lawrence Wong were, His Excellency Chee Hong Tat, Minister for National Development, His Excellency Dr. Koh Poh Koon, Senior Minister of State for Health and Manpower, Her Excellency Ms Jasmin Lau, Minister of State for Digital Development & Information and Minister of Education, His Excellency Mr Laurence Bay, High Commissioner of the Republic of Singapore to Brunei Darussalam, Ms Goh Hanyan, Senior Parliamentary Secretary for the Ministry of Sustainability and the Environment & the Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth, and Dr Syed Harun Alhabsyi, Senior Parliament Secretary for the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of National Development.
Cabinet ministers there were present during the visit were Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Ahmaddin bin Haji Abdul Rahman, Minister of Home Affairs and Minister in attendance, Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Muhammad Juanda bin Haji Abdul Rashid, Minister of Development, and Yang Berhormat Pengiran Dato Seri Setia Shamhary bin Pengiran Dato Paduka Haji Mustapha, Minister of Transport and Infocommunications.
The purpose of the visit was to explore first hand healthcare and treatment facilities while understanding the various medical and specialist services available at JPMC and cardiac care at Gleneagles JPMC. His Excellency Lawrence Wong and the delegation from the Republic of Singapore was given a presentation on Jerudong Park Medical Centre, Gleneagles JPMC and a Presentation on Pioneering Citizen-centric Health Transformation in Brunei Darussalam. His Excellency then had the opportunity to tour of JPMC’s state-of-the-art facilities housed in Brunei Neuroscience Stroke and Rehabilitation Centre (BNSRC) and The Brunei Cancer Centre (TBCC) more specifically Robotics Therapy Room and the Nuclear Medicine Department. The tour continued to Gleneagles JPMC, where His Excellency visited the hospital’s cutting-edge Cardiovascular Laboratory, home to the latest biplane imaging technology, and engaged with the doctors and staff.
This courtesy visit highlighted the importance of the exchange of best practices in specialised medical services, addressing shared public health challenges and promoting healthcare innovation in the region. It also served as a valuable platform to strengthen the existing ties between Brunei Darussalam and the Republic of Singapore in the healthcare industry.
