20 November 2025 – The Brunei Cancer Centre (TBCC) of Jerudong Park Medical Centre (JPMC) welcomed Professor José Florencio “Joey” Lapeña Jr. from Healthway Medical Network, a distinguished otolaryngologist, academic leader, and internationally recognised expert in medical writing and scientific publishing.

Professor José was received by Dr Haji Zulkhairi Mohamad, the Head of Department of Medical Oncologist and Palliative Care Unit, JPMC. The visit started with a briefing on TBCC’s direction and services, reflecting the centre’s continued commitment to expanding regional partnerships and advancing cancer care. This was followed with a discussion revolving around potential areas of collaboration in oncology

Following the presentation, Professor José had the opportunity to tour several key facilities across TBCC, including the Early Detection and Cancer Prevention Services (EDCPS), Radiotherapy Department, and the Day Care Unit, and the Chemotherapy Clinic. This visit underscored JPMC’s ongoing efforts to foster meaningful engagement with regional healthcare leaders and to strengthen collaboration in advancing cancer care excellence.
