1 October 2025 – Jerudong Park Medical Centre (JPMC) will be concluding its month-long celebration of International Nurses and Midwives Day (INMD) 2025 with a Donation Handover and Sponsor Appreciation Ceremony, held at the Lecture Theatre, RF Floor, PJSC Building.

The event was graced by Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Dr Haji Mohd Isham bin Haji Jaafar, Minister of Health (MOH), in his capacity as Chairman of the Board of Directors and Executive Director of JPMC, as the Guest of Honour. Also present was Yang Berhormat Datin Seri Setia Dr Hjh Romaizah binti Haji Md Salleh, Minister of Education (MOE), as Special Guest, along with members of JPMC’s Board of Directors, senior management of MOE and JPMC, students and representatives from the Ri’ayah Wa Mahabbah Programme, and invited guests.

The INMD celebration this year aligns itself with the global theme of ‘Our Nurses, Our Future: Caring for Nurses Strengthens Economies’, honouring the dedication of nurses and midwives while highlighting JPMC’s commitment to holistic care and social responsibility. Keeping the theme in mind, this year’s INMD campaign featured two major charity programs namely, ‘Move for Hope’, an aerobic and Zumba event; and ‘Spin for Hope’, a spinning session, as the main highlights of the month-long celebration. Proceeds from these initiatives were directed towards improving educational opportunities and resources for students under the Ri’ayah Wa Mahabbah Programme, a program under the Department of Schools, MOE that supports students facing challenges in attending and focusing on school such as socio-economic constraints.

In her welcoming remarks, Ms. Chung Yea Fui, Director of Nursing, JPMC, expressed gratitude to all contributors and emphasized the significance of the initiative.

During the ceremony, a mock cheque representing the funds raised was officially handed over to the Ri’ayah Wa Mahabbah Programme. The event also featured an appreciation video, and presentation of certificates to sponsors.

The Donation Handover and Sponsor Appreciation Ceremony served as a fitting conclusion to INMD 2025, celebrating the invaluable contributions of nurses and midwives while reinforcing JPMC’s commitment to community care and educational empowerment.
