exhibition

Balikpapan, Indonesia – Jerudong Park Medical Centre (JPMC) continues its efforts to engage with markets beyond Brunei Darussalam through its participation in the Health In Motion 2026: Healthcare, Wellness & Travel Fair at Pentacity Mall, Balikpapan, Indonesia, from 5 to 8 February 2026. This milestone reflects JPMC’s strategic commitment to fostering regional collaboration in advancing its medical tourism initiatives while strengthening Brunei’s healthcare capacity within Southeast Asia.

As healthcare systems across the region continue to evolve, closer institutional cooperation plays an important role in enhancing service delivery and improving patient outcomes. The Expo provided a comprehensive platform that brought together healthcare institutions, medical professionals and stakeholders within the medical tourism ecosystem, facilitating dialogue at the intersection of healthcare and travel.

The event also offered an opportunity to present JPMC’s specialised services, including neurology, oncology, orthopaedics, rehabilitation programmes and advanced diagnostics, within the broader context of integrated regional care. These engagements reflect a forward-looking approach centred on cooperation, mutual growth and improved patient outcomes.

In conjunction with the Expo, JPMC organised courtesy visits to Hospital Dr. Kanujoso Djatiwibowo, Siloam Hospital Balikpapan and Rumah Sakit Pertamina Balikpapan. The visits focused on discussions surrounding clinical collaboration, the exchange of best practices and the identification of complementary strengths that may contribute to sustainable, long-term partnerships.

During a media engagement in Balikpapan, Dr Pengiran Siti Nur’Ashikin Binti Pengiran Haji Tengah, Director of the Brunei Neuroscience Stroke and Rehabilitation Centre at JPMC, underscored the value of regional synergy in advancing healthcare capability. She noted that sustained progress in Southeast Asia is reinforced through knowledge-sharing, cross-border professional development and coordinated approaches to specialised care. Such collaboration, she added, supports higher standards of treatment while strengthening institutional capacity within each respective healthcare system.

JPMC’s participation and engagement in Indonesia signify its continued commitment to building constructive regional relationships grounded in professional exchange and shared expertise. Through this milestone engagement, JPMC affirms its strategic intent to contribute to a more connected and resilient regional healthcare ecosystem anchored in partnership and collaboration.
