07 August 2026 – Jerudong Park Medical Centre (JPMC) celebrated another milestone in its commitment to developing Brunei Darussalam’s future healthcare workforce through the JPMC Scholarship Award Signing Ceremony 2026. Held at the Lecture Theatre on the RF Floor of the Pantai Jerudong Specialist Centre (PJSC) Building, the ceremony brought together scholarship recipients, their families and invited guests to commemorate the beginning of a new chapter for aspiring healthcare professionals while celebrating the achievements of JPMC’s pioneering scholars.
The ceremony was attended by the Guest of Honour, Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Dr Haji Mohd Isham bin Haji Jaafar, Minister of Health, in his capacity as the Chairman and Executive Director of JPMC. The event commenced with an opening address by Ms Jang Tracy Ramantan-McGlynn, People Manager of JPMC, who reaffirmed the organisation’s long-standing commitment to invest in people as the foundation of quality healthcare.
Speaking at the ceremony, Ms Ramantan-McGlynn said, “Every scholar we support represents an investment in the future of healthcare in Brunei Darussalam. Since the scholarship programme was established in 2023, our commitment has remained the same; to support talented Bruneians in pursuing careers in healthcare and to equip them with the knowledge, skills and experience needed to make a meaningful difference.”
This year’s ceremony marked a significant milestone for JPMC as it celebrated the graduation of its inaugural cohort of JPMC Scholars, with three scholars successfully completing their studies and preparing to begin their professional careers at JPMC.
Their achievements demonstrate the impact of the scholarship programme in nurturing local talent and strengthening the nation’s healthcare workforce.
Following a careful selection process, JPMC awarded scholarships to five students who will pursue their studies at the JPMC College of Health Sciences. Nur’Aisyah Farzanah Batrisyia Binti Ahmad will undertake the Foundation in Science Certificate before progressing to the Bachelor of Science in Nursing programme. Muhammad Rizman Bin Ratino, Nur Hafizah Rashidah Binti Julkafili, Hajah Razan Dzarifah @ Naqibah Binti Haji Zaini, and Nursuhairatul Bazilah Binti Muhammad Suhairman will commence the Bachelor of Science in Nursing programme.
JPMC also extended this year’s scholarship programme to support the professional development of its existing workforce through two internal staff scholarships. Racheal Tang Lee Chau, Senior Medical Scientific Officer and Head of the Haematology Unit in the Laboratory Department, was awarded a scholarship to pursue a Master of Science in Haematology and Transfusion. Era Nuvita Sari@ Qanitah Inarah Binti Sapar, Staff Nurse at the Maxillofacial Facial Plastic Reconstructive Surgery Centre Operating Theatre, received a scholarship to pursue a Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
