Our research programme is driven by one question: how can we deliver better outcomes for people affected by cancer? We focus on studies that are relevant to our population, practical for our healthcare system and meaningful for our patients.

Clinical Studies and Trials
Selected patients may be invited to take part in approved clinical studies. Participation is always voluntary, fully explained and guided by strict ethical standards. Speak to your care team if you would like to know whether any current studies may be relevant to you.

For Researchers: Proposing a Study
Staff and collaborating researchers who wish to conduct a study at the Centre must obtain ethics approval before commencing. Our research office can guide you through protocol submission, ethics review and data governance requirements.

Learning at Every Level
Education is how good practice spreads. We deliver structured learning for healthcare professionals, meaningful experiences for students and accessible health information for the public.
For Healthcare Professionals
- CME and CPD Sessions: Regular accredited sessions covering the latest developments in oncology, haematology, radiotherapy and supportive care
- Grand Rounds and Case Discussions: Multidisciplinary forums where complex cases are reviewed and learning is shared across specialties
- Journal Club: Monthly critical appraisal of current oncology literature
For Students and Trainees
We welcome medical, nursing and allied health students for clinical placements and observerships. Placements offer supervised exposure to multidisciplinary cancer care, from diagnosis through treatment and survivorship.
Eligibility and applications: Placements are subject to availability and institutional agreements. Applicants should submit their request through their academic institution together with our placement application form.
For Patients and the Public
Knowledge is a form of care. We run community awareness talks, cancer screening campaigns and patient education sessions designed to make cancer information clear, accurate and free of fear. Follow our events calendar to join an upcoming session.

Clinical Attachments and Fellowships
Structured attachments are available for doctors, nurses and allied health professionals seeking focused experience in oncology, chemotherapy services, radiotherapy and palliative care. Fellowship and specialty training pathways are offered in collaboration with our academic and clinical partners.
