PET-CT
A PET-CT combines a PET scan (using a small amount of radioactive glucose, F-18 FDG, to show how cells are functioning) with a CT scan (which shows detailed images of body structures) to provide a complete picture of disease, especially cancers.
SPECT-CT
A SPECT-CT uses radiotracers and gamma cameras to show how organs function, then fuses this with CT images for precise structural detail. The scan usually takes 20–40 minutes, and the patient must stay still.
Radioactive Iodine Therapy (RAI)
RAI treats hyperthyroidism (overactive thyroid) when medication fails, causes side effects, or when the condition returns after surgery.
