22 August 2026– Jerudong Park Medical Centre (JPMC) welcomed Yang Amat Berbahagia Dato’ Seri Dr. Wan Azizah binti Dato’ Dr. Haji Wan Ismail, Spouse of the Prime Minister of Malaysia, for a courtesy visit to JPMC, highlighting the longstanding healthcare ties and continued cooperation between Brunei Darussalam and Malaysia.


The visit brought together representatives from the Government of Malaysia, JPMC and the Ministry of Health, providing an opportunity for engagement and the exchange of perspectives on specialised healthcare services, rehabilitation and the application of innovative technologies in patient care.


Yang Amat Berbahagia Dato’ Seri Dr. Wan Azizah was received by Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Dr. Haji Mohd Isham bin Haji Jaafar, Minister of Health, in his capacity as Chairman and Executive Director of JPMC, together with Yang Mulia Pengiran Datin Seri Paduka Hajah Zety Sufina binti Pengiran Dato Paduka Haji Sani, Deputy Minister of Finance, in her capacity as Deputy Chairman of JPMC.


Also accompanying Yang Amat Berbahagia Dato’ Seri Dr. Wan Azizah was Yang Mulia Datin Hajah Kalshom binti Haji Suhail, Spouse of the Minister-in-Attendance. Also in attendance were Yang Mulia Awang Haji Adi Ihram bin Dato Paduka Haji Mahmud, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Health, as well as members of the JPMC Board, senior management and officials from JPMC as well as the Ministry of Health.


The programme featured an overview of JPMC’s specialised healthcare services and capabilities, with a focus on its approach to rehabilitation and technology-enabled care. The corporate presentation, delivered by Madam Bun Pei Ling, Chief Financial Officer of JPMC, provided an insight into JPMC’s role within Brunei Darussalam’s healthcare landscape and its range of specialised services, followed by an engagement with representatives from JPMC and the Ministry of Health.


The visit also highlighted JPMC’s Specialist Medical Services, particularly its rehabilitation facilities and the integration of technology in patient care. The tour included the Rehabilitation Garden, Hydropool and Rehabilitation Ward, as well as the Robotics facility, showcasing JPMC’s capabilities in supporting rehabilitation, recovery and improved patient outcomes.


The occasion also included the signing of a Commemorative Parchment and the presentation of a token of appreciation to Yang Amat Berbahagia Dato’ Seri Dr. Wan Azizah, marking her visit to JPMC and the significance of continued engagement between Brunei Darussalam and Malaysia in the healthcare sector.


The courtesy visit underscored the importance of continued collaboration and professional exchange between Brunei Darussalam and Malaysia, particularly in specialised medical services, rehabilitation and healthcare innovation. It further reinforced the shared commitment to strengthening regional healthcare cooperation and advancing quality, patient centred care.
