JPMC Celebrates International Nurses and Midwives Day 2024 with Religious Event

10th May 2024 – As the world commemorates International Nurses and Midwives Day 2024, Jerudong Park Medical Centre (JPMC) collaborated with the Ibadah Friendly Hospital (IFH) Committee to celebrate the outstanding contributions of nurses and midwives. This year’s theme, “Our Nurses. Our Future. The economic power of care” highlighting the positive impact investing in the nursing workforce on healthcare delivery, economic development, peace, and societal well-being.

To inaugurate its series of events, JPMC hosted “Majlis Ceramah Khas, Doa Kesyukuran dan Meraikan Saudara-Saudara Baru”, held at the Lecture Theatre, Pantai Jerudong Specialist Centre (PJSC). The ceremony was honored by the presence of Guest of Honour, Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Dr Haji Mohd Isham bin Haji Jaafar, Minister of Health, in the capacity of Chairman and Executive Director of JPMC, alongside JPMC Board of Directors, Senior Management and Head of Departments of JPMC and PJSC.

The event commenced with a recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah and Doa Selamat by Ustaz Ishkandar Hj Buntar, followed by an enlightening talk titled “Kemuliaan Peranan Jururawat & Bidan Menurut Islam” delivered by the invited speaker Ustaz Isham bin Ismail, Pegawai Perkembangan Ugama, Pusat Dakwah Islamiah.

The event continued with Dikir Ashraqal Badru A’laina and the presentation of gifts to nine newly converted Muslim staff from JPMC and PJSC since 2022. The celebration concluded with a group photo session and a cake cutting ceremony. This event serves as a testament to the appreciation and recognition of the invaluable contributions made by nurses and midwives, emphasizing their significant role in the healthcare ecosystem.
