16 April 2026– Jerudong Park Medical Centre (JPMC) marked a meaningful Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) milestone today with the completion and presentation of upgraded facilities at Learning Ladders Society, strengthening the centre’s capacity to provide structured early intervention and developmental support programmes for children with autism and related needs.

The milestone coincided with the Hari Raya celebration hosted by Learning Ladders, creating a warm and inclusive setting for engagement with children, families, therapists, and partners, and reflecting the shared commitment to building supportive environments where every child can develop communication, social, and independence skills.

The occasion was graced by the Guest of Honour, Yang Behormat Dato Seri Setia Dr Haji Md Isham bin Haji Jaafar, Minister of Health in his capacity as Chairman of Board of Directors and Executive Director of JPMC. Members of JPMC’s Senior Management Team were also present.

The upgrading initiative supports Learning Ladders’ role as one of Brunei’s longstanding community-based centres providing evidence-informed intervention programmes, including structured therapy, school readiness preparation, and family support services for children with autism spectrum conditions. Improvements to the physical environment enhance the delivery of these programmes by ensuring therapy spaces are safer, more functional, and better suited to the needs of both learners and therapists.

The enhancement works were carried out in collaboration with several strategic partners who contributed towards infrastructure repairs and interior improvements. These included Arkitek Urusreka, Armada Properties, McHouse Interior Decor, Power Teck Engineering, Enercon Services, DHJ Electrical Engineering, TSK Sdn Bhd, Trane Aire, Makan Ceria, and Castle Saniware. Their collective support reflects a shared commitment to strengthening communitybased developmental services for children in Brunei.

Guests were given a guided tour of the upgraded therapy and activity spaces, offering insight into how the improvements will directly support intervention delivery and daily learning routines at the centre.

JPMC shared that initiatives such as this form part of its broader commitment to supporting inclusive healthcare and community well-being, particularly for children requiring specialised developmental support.

This milestone highlights the importance of partnerships between healthcare institutions, professional service providers, and community organisations in strengthening early support pathways for children with autism and their families across Brunei.
