Press Play: Bringing Healthcare and Media into Conversation

22 April 2026 – Jerudong Park Medical Centre (JPMC), through its Public Relations Unit under the Marketing and Public Relations Department, recently hosted Press Play: The JPMC Dialogue, an initiative aimed at strengthening collaboration between JPMC and the media in shaping public understanding of health and wellbeing.

The session brought together members of the media and opinion leaders for an open exchange of perspectives on the evolving healthcare landscape, highlighting the importance of clear, accurate, and accessible health communication.

In his welcoming remarks, Mr Neelakannan Periyasamy, Chief Operating Officer, JPMC expressed his appreciation to members of the media and opinion leaders for being part of the dialogue, recognising their important role in shaping conversations and informing the public.

The session featured an introduction and presentation by Mr Nazdeny Ardian Hj Johan, Head of the Public Relations Unit, JPMC followed by a dialogue led by Dr Hj Muhd Syafiq bin Abdullah, Chief Medical Officer, JPMC and moderated by Mrs Nurul Umillah Abdul Razak, Marketing and PR Officer, JPMC. The fireside chat explored key challenges in healthcare communication, as well as opportunities for stronger collaboration between healthcare institutions and media.

Also present were Madam Bun Pei Ling, Chief Financial Officer, JPMC and Mr Salehin Basir, Chief People Officer, JPMC.

Press Play reflects JPMC’s commitment to building meaningful partnerships and creating space for open dialogue with our stakeholders and partners. This marks the beginning of a continued effort to strengthen collaboration and engagement with media partners and opinion leaders moving forward.
