2nd August 2024 Jerudong Park Medical Centre (JPMC) celebrates the second year of awarding remarkable individuals who have demonstrated a commitment to advancing their careers in healthcare through the JPMC Scholarship program. Carrying the theme “Building The Future Workforce in Healthcare”, they marked another major achievement in launching the JPMC Elite Program, aimed at supporting the professional growth of their employees through ongoing education at JPMC College of Health Sciences (JCHS). The new JPMC Elite Program was launched in addition to their JPMC Scholar Program, which was introduced last year, specifically curated for students who have shown outstanding potential with their exceptional academic achievement and passion for healthcare.

Present as the guest of honour, Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Dr Haji Mohammad Isham Bin Haji Jaafar, the Minister of Health in his capacity as Chairman and Executive Director of JPMC along with other members of Board of Directors.

The scholarship program underscores JPMC’s commitment to investing in and nurturing the future healthcare workforce. By providing opportunities for advanced education and professional development, JPMC is laying the foundation for a highly skilled and competent team of healthcare professionals. This was highlighted in the opening remarks by Chief Financial Officer cum Acting Chief Operating Officer, Madam Bun Pei Ling.

The ceremony celebrated seven (7) individuals selected for both the JPMC Elite and JPMC Scholar awards. They will be enrolled in JCHS this August where two (2) recipients will undergo Foundation in Science Certification whilst the other five (5) recipients will undergo Bachelor of Science in Nursing.  

With the establishment of the two scholarship programs, JPMC reaffirms its dedication to supporting Brunei’s Wawasan 2035 by focusing on the development of current and future talent, that strives to elevate the quality of life in the Sultanate. This initiative reflects the organization’s long-term vision of ensuring that its workforce is equipped with the latest knowledge and skills in providing the highest standard of healthcare to its patients.
