JPMC Welcomes the Minister of Health of the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste

4 May 2026 – Jerudong Park Medical Centre (JPMC) is honoured to receive Her Excellency Mrs Élia António de Araújo dos Reis Amaral, Minister of Health of the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste, for an official visit to JPMC.

Her Excellency arrived at the medical centre as part of an official convoy. Upon arrival, Her Excellency was received by Yang Mulia Dk Hajah Dewi Sarwani binti Pg Haji Sarpuddin, Member of the Board of Directors of JPMC, together with the C-Level Executives of JPMC comprising Yang Mulia Dr Haji Muhd Syafiq bin Abdullah, Chief Medical Officer, Madam Bun Pei Ling, Chief Financial Officer, Mr Neelakannan Periyasamy, Chief Operating Officer, and Mr Salehin Basir, Chief People Officer, in the presence of Yang Mulia Dr Hajah Rafidah binti Haji Gharif, Deputy Permanent Secretary (Professional) as Acting Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Health, and senior government representatives.

The delegation from the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste accompanying Her Excellency included senior representatives from the Government of Timor-Leste, including the Director General of Corporate Services and the Director General for Ambulance and Emergency Services, who accompanied Her Excellency throughout the visit.

The visit was held to provide an overview of the healthcare services and specialised treatment facilities available at JPMC. During the visit, Herout Excellency and the delegation were briefed on the institution’s capabilities, followed by a guided tour of the Brunei Neuroscience Stroke and Rehabilitation Centre (BNSRC) and The Brunei Cancer Centre (TBCC), where they visited key facilities including the Robotics Therapy Room and the Nuclear Medicine Department. The delegation also had the opportunity to engage with healthcare professionals and observe the advanced technologies supporting patient care.

This visit underscores the importance of strengthening bilateral cooperation in the healthcare sector, fostering the exchange of knowledge and expertise, and enhancing regional collaboration in addressing shared healthcare priorities. It also reflects the continued commitment of both nations to advancing healthcare standards and promoting mutual understanding.
