13 March 2021 – A signing ceremony of Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was held today between Ministry of Health Brunei and Jerudong Park Medical Centre on outsourcing haemodialysis services to JPMC which aims to accommodate the increasing number of patients with End Stage Kidney Disease that requires Kidney Replacement Therapy.
Present to witness the signing ceremony was the Guest of Honour, Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Dr. Haji Mohammad Isham bin Haji Jaafar, Minister of Health and Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Dr. Awang Haji Mohd Amin Liew bin Abdullah, Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Minister of Finance and Economy II in his capacity as the Deputy Chairman of JPMC, Members of Board of Directors, Senior Management, Head of Departments and Staff of Ministry of Health and JPMC.
Signing the MOU on behalf of JPMC was Yang Mulia Dr Meera Sahib Kabeer, Medical Director of JPMC, witnessed by Yang Mulia Zauyah Md Tarmizi, Chief Operating Officer of JPMC. Representing Ministry of Health was Yang Mulia Pengiran Dr Haji Mohd Khalifah bin Pengiran Haji Ismail, Acting Director General of Medical and Health Services of Ministry of Health, witnessed by Yang Mulia Hajah Wan Aslina binti Haji Ibrahim, Acting Senior Health Officer of Ministry of Health.
The signing ceremony was followed by the official opening of the Renal Dialysis Unit which was officiated by Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Dr. Haji Mohammad Isham bin Haji Jaafar, Minister of Health.
The opening of the new Renal Dialysis Unit marks a historic milestone as it is the first ever public private partnership (PPP) to improve the provisions of haemodialysis services in Brunei Darussalam.
