18th November 2023 – Jerudong Park Medical Centre (JPMC) commemorated World Patient Safety Day 2023 by unveiling its newly revised Patient Charter, reaffirming its unwavering dedication to patient-centered care and safety. The event, held at Pantai Jerudong Specialist Centre, was graced by the presence of Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Dr. Haji Mohd Isham bin Haji Jaafar, Minister of Health in his capacity as Chairman and Executive Director of JPMC, along with Patient Representatives, Senior Management Team, Head of Departments, Quality Link and esteemed staff.
In his opening remarks, Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Dr. Haji Mohd Isham emphasized the significance of the new Patient Charter, highlighting its alignment with the World Health Organization’s World Patient Safety Day 2023 theme, “Engaging Patients for Patient Safety.” He underscored the importance of involving clients and patients in the review process, emphasizing the pivotal role they play in shaping healthcare journeys.
JPMC’s Health Information and Quality Management Manager, Jeffry Damit, elaborated on the journey undertaken to engage patients in the revision of the Patient Charter. The valuable contributions of eight patient representatives, representing diverse perspectives, who provided insights and recommendations based on their experiences, were acknowledged.
The event also served as a platform to celebrate JPMC’s commitment to patient safety and its 25th Anniversary Silver Jubilee. Patient representatives shared their positive experiences with JPMC’s services, commending the hospital’s dedication to providing high-quality care.
The launch of the new Patient Charter marks a significant milestone in JPMC’s ongoing commitment to patient-centered care and safety. The charter outlines patients’ rights and responsibilities, emphasizing JPMC’s dedication to providing a safe, respectful, and compassionate healthcare experience for all clients and patients.
