
21 March 2025 – In the sacred month of Ramadan, a time of reflection, compassion, and generosity, Jerudong Park Medical Centre (JPMC) together with the Society for Community Outreach and Training (SCOT) embarked on the Social Kitchen Community Initiative that provides home-cooked iftar meals to the community while providing entrepreneurial opportunities for single mothers throughout the month of Ramadhan. Supported by a team of dedicated volunteers, including doctors, nurses, and staff from JPMC, this heartfelt initiative aims to spread kindness and provide nourishment to those in need with the hope of making a meaningful impact in the community.
This is a two days initiative started on 19th March until 20rd March 2025 at the Social Kitchen Table,Kiulap. More than 60 JPMC volunteers, who worked side by side with members of SCOT and single mothers entrepreneurs have prepared, packaged and distributed 500 meals to underprivileged families in the Brunei-Muara district namely in Sungai Akar, Kampung Subok, and Jalan Sentosa. The distribution of the meals was led by Yang Mulia Dr. Meera Sahib Kabeer, Chief Medical Officer of JPMC and Yang Mulia Ms. Bun Pei Ling, Acting Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer of JPMC. They were also joined by members of JPMC’s senior management team, who actively participated in the initiative, demonstrating their commitment to community service and solidarity.

By serving others, JPMC and SCOT not only address immediate needs but also strengthen the bonds within the organisation and the wider community. As JPMC continues its journey of giving, it remains steadfast in its commitment to fostering meaningful connections and uplifting lives, one meal at a time
