
9 May 2025 – Jerudong Park Medical Centre (JPMC) through its Ibadah Friendly Hospital (IFH) Committee, held a Doa Selamat Ceremony today to honour and celebrate five staff members from JPMC and Gleneagles JPMC who will be undertaking the sacred pilgrimage to Mecca for Hajj this year.
The ceremony, held at the Main Surau of JPMC, was graced by the Guest of Honour, Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Dr Haji Mohd Isham bin Haji Jaafar, Minister of Health in his capacity as the Chairman of the Executive Board of JPMC. Also in attendance was Yang Mulia Dr Peter Tay Boon Chye, Chief Executive Officer of Gleneagles JPMC, Senior Management Team of JPMC, Head of Departments, and staff from both JPMC and Gleneagles JPMC.
The event began with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah, followed by a short tazkirah delivered by Ustaz Haji Ishkandar bin Haji Buntar, Chairperson of JPMC IFH Committee. In his remarks, he shared reflections on the significance of Hajj and emphasised the importance of preparation, both physically and spiritually, for those undertaking the pilgrimage. This was continued with the presentation of contributions to the five departing pilgrims, and a Doa Kesyukuran to seek blessings and protection for the pilgrims throughout their journey. Contributions were made from both the IFH Committee of JPMC, and Gleneagles JPMC as a gesture of support and well wishes.
