21st March 2024 – In this sacred month of Ramadan, a time revered for its profound reflections on generosity and communal spirit, Jerudong Park Medical Centre (JPMC) has recently collaborated with the Society for Community Outreach and Training (SCOT), supported by volunteers from JPMC College of Health Sciences (JCHS). This collaborative effort emphasized the importance of collective action in coordinating and distributing meals alongside single mothers engaged in SCOT’s Social Kitchen Community Programme at the Shared Kitchen, Pusat Belia, Bandar Seri Begawan.
The initiative brought together 40 volunteers from JPMC and 20 volunteers from JCHS, alongside SCOT representative and single mothers, resulting in the preparation and distribution of over 300 meals. The program was to extend support to underprivileged families residing in Pusat Penempatan Sementara Jalan Sentosa, while also providing Iftar meals for Muslims at Ash-Shaliheen Mosque and Sultan Omar Ali Saifuddien Mosque (SOAS).
This initiative not only embodies the Ramadan spirit but also fosters kindness, leaving a lasting positive impact on the community and fostering stronger solidarity. Furthermore, it has facilitated meaningful connections between various departments within our staff, enhancing our organizational culture and unity.
