6th July 2026 – Jerudong Park Medical Centre (JPMC) today officially launched the Sejahtera Lounge, a dedicated wellbeing space for staff, as it marked the opening of its fourth annual Employee Wellbeing Week.
Held from 6 to 9 July 2026, this year’s Employee Wellbeing Week, organised by JPMC’s People Management Services, celebrates the theme “Living Our Purpose”. More than an annual wellbeing initiative, this year’s programme invites employees to reflect on the purpose behind their work and the positive impact they make on patients, colleagues and the wider community.
The event was officiated by Yang Mulia Dk Hajah Dewi Sarwani binti Pg Haji Sarpuddin, Senior Investment Manager of Darussalam Assets Sdn Bhd, in her capacity as Board Member of JPMC.
Throughout Employee Wellbeing Week, employees will participate in a diverse programme of expert talks, interactive workshops and wellbeing activities covering topics such as purpose-driven healthcare, emotional wellbeing, workplace safety, nutrition, women’s health, financial literacy and emerging technologies. The programme also includes interactive initiatives such as The Purpose Quest, a team-based challenge designed to encourage collaboration and problem-solving while fostering stronger connections among employees.
A key highlight of this year’s Employee Wellbeing Week was the launch of the Sejahtera Lounge, a dedicated staff wellbeing space designed to provide employees with a place to rest, recharge and prioritise self-care during the workday. Equipped with massage chairs and comfortable relaxation areas, the lounge reflects JPMC’s ongoing commitment to creating a supportive workplace that recognises employee wellbeing as an essential part of delivering safe, compassionate and high-quality healthcare.
The programme also included an opening address by Mr. Salehin Basir, Chief People Officer of JPMC, the presentation of the Employee Wellbeing Survey 2026 by Ms. J. Tracy Ramantan-McGlynn, Chairperson of Employee Wellbeing, and a keynote address entitled “Living Our Purpose: Bringing Our Core Values to Life” by Ustaz Muzhafar bin Haji Marsidi.
According to the Chief People Officer, “Employee wellbeing is not a one-week initiative or the responsibility of one department. Purpose is not defined by our job titles, but by how we serve others, support our colleagues and contribute to something greater than ourselves. When our people thrive, our patients receive better care, and together we fulfil JPMC’s purpose of delivering excellence with compassion.”
Presenting the results for JPMC Employee Satisfaction Survey, they have shared encouraging improvements across employee wellbeing and engagement, with physical wellbeing recording the strongest year-on-year improvement alongside positive gains in mental wellbeing, financial wellbeing, teamwork and organisational direction. Employees’ sense of purpose remained the organisation’s strongest result, with 88.4 per cent believing their work has meaning, while more employees identified themselves as committed to JPMC and fewer indicated an intention to leave. The survey also highlighted opportunities for improvement in rewards and recognition, staffing, leadership, workplace flexibility and policy transparency, with People Management Services prioritising these areas to further strengthen the overall employee experience.
As the final chapter of the Sejahtera ‘Well@Work’ framework that was introduced in 2023, Employee Wellbeing Week 2026 marks an important milestone in JPMC’s employee wellbeing journey. Looking ahead, the organisation will evolve towards a year-round approach, bringing each Well@Work pillar to life through ongoing initiatives that foster sustained engagement, wellbeing and a strong organisational culture.
Through initiatives such as Employee Wellbeing Week, JPMC continues to strengthen a workplace culture where employees feel valued, supported and empowered, recognising that a healthy and engaged workforce is essential to delivering safe, compassionate and high-quality healthcare.
