BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, 18th September – The Pantai Jerudong Specialist Centre Building will be glowing orange on the evening of 17th September 2026 until 27th September 2026, as Jerudong Park Medical Centre (JPMC) joined hospitals and landmarks around the world in marking World Patient Safety Day 2026.

Observed annually on 17th September by the World Health Organization (WHO), this year’s campaign centred on the safety of patients living with noncommunicable diseases (NCDs) under the slogan “Safe care for life!”. The WHO reports that NCDs, such as cardiovascular diseases, cancers, diabetes and chronic respiratory diseases, account for 74 per cent of deaths worldwide, and that patients with such conditions are at greater risk of harm because of their frequent, ongoing contact with the healthcare system. The theme strikes close to home for JPMC, as a centre that provides specialist care for patients with NCDs through long and often complex treatment journeys.

The orange illuminations also came as JPMC continues preparations for its Joint Commission International (JCI) 8th Edition triennial survey in October, part of the hospital’s ongoing work to strengthen patient safety and quality of care.

JPMC said it remains committed to patient safety and the wellbeing of every patient under its care.
