Kota Kasablanka, Jakarta Indonesia – Jerudong Park Medical Centre (JPMC) continued its efforts to strengthen Brunei Darussalam’s medical tourism presence in Indonesia through its participation in the Visit Brunei Year 2027 (VBY 2027) Roadshow held at Kota Kasablanka, Jakarta, from 11 to 13 September 2026.
Organised by the Tourism Development Department, Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, the roadshow showcased Brunei Darussalam’s tourism offerings to the Indonesian market, including its healthcare services.
JPMC was represented by Chief Operating Officer, Mr Neelakannan Periyasamy, and Director of General Medical Services, Dr Muhd Hiza Wardy Hj Abd Halim, together with other official representatives from JPMC.
JPMC’s participation formed part of its ongoing medical tourism efforts to build greater awareness of Brunei as a healthcare destination while strengthening connections within the regional healthcare and tourism ecosystem.
During the visit, the JPMC delegation also met with relevant stakeholders and healthcare partners in Jakarta to discuss potential areas of collaboration in medical tourism. The discussions explored opportunities to strengthen connections between healthcare providers, improve awareness of available healthcare pathways and support greater access to specialised care in Brunei.
Mr Neelakannan Periyasamy, Chief Operating Officer of JPMC said, “Indonesia remains an important market in JPMC’s medical tourism journey. Through engagements such as the Visit Brunei 2027 Roadshow, we are not only showcasing Brunei’s healthcare capabilities but also building meaningful partnerships that will strengthen patient access to high-quality specialised care and support the long-term growth of healthcare collaboration between Brunei and Indonesia”.
The engagement also highlighted the close connectivity between Brunei and Indonesia, with direct air links between Jakarta and Brunei supporting convenient access for patients and accompanying family members. Combined with Brunei’s peaceful environment and JPMC’s integrated healthcare setting, these factors contribute to the country’s potential as a destination for patients seeking specialised medical care.
JPMC will continue to engage with relevant partners in Indonesia and other regional markets as part of its broader efforts to develop medical tourism and strengthen Brunei Darussalam’s role within the regional healthcare landscape.
